About Azusa & Yui

Yui Komori is the protagonist of the Diabolik Lovers series. She is an innocent and incredibly kind girl who was raised by a Catholic priest...until, in the original game, she was sacrificed to a family of sadistic vampires! In the second game, Yui was kidnapped by the Mukami brothers for their own mysterious reasons.

As a dark romance otome game heroine, Yui can end up in a relationship with one of her vampire captors.

Azusa Mukami is one of Yui's potential suitors. He is a clingy yandere Do-S vampire with timid manner, a stubborn streak, and a uniquely gentle heart♡ Because Azusa was heavily abused as a child, he believes suffering pain is his only purpose in life. As such, he obsesses about his self-harm wounds and constantly seeks injuries to numb his trauma.

Believing Yui to be a kindred spirit and wanting to make her smile, Azusa originally terrifies Yui by asking her to hurt him and biting her in return. Strange as it may sound, Azusa is not malicious, and his compassion and empathy for Yui makes her fall in love with him. For his part, he becomes deeply devoted to her and eventually learns new coping mechanisms, emotions, and other strengths through his interactions with Yui.

As a couple, their relationship is oddly sweet and tender. They give each other comfort and both are very protective in their love.

Azusa has routes in five games: More Blood, Vandead Carnival, Dark Fate, Lunatic Parade, and Lost Eden. He also has many Drama CDs and short stories about his feelings for Yui. Nothing has been officially localized into English, but there are fan translations and summaries available. ʚ♡⃛ɞ(ू•ᴗ•ू❁)
